About The Hive Sourdough Co
Our Inspiration
The Hive Sourdough Co. was born in our small micro-bakery located in the beautiful hill country of Leander, Texas. Our company was born in a time of transition, grief, and growth as I began this bread journey as part of my healing. As a sick person, I began searching for ways to improve my gut health, stretch my confused brains to learn something new and to work through grief after losing my grandmother - the matriarch of our family for decades. My sweet granny, Jane, always had beautiful fresh bread made weekly for herself and her loved ones. Up until her final months of being well, and in her 90s, she was baking beautiful artisanal bread in her kitchen. Some of my favorite moments were spent with her in the kitchen, watching her make bread and learning about Jesus. She wove a love so deep in this family, and i hope to make her proud doing the same.
Our Process
We take great pride in our baking process, which involves mixing and shaping each sourdough bread loaf by hand. We believe that this hands-on approach allows us to create gourmet bread that is perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. We also use only the best organic materials for our artisanal bread.
